Great work by Mylapore Times

Hello!
This is a great work by Mylapore Times. I am sure all of us who grew up in Mylapore will have many interesting things to say about life then. I vaguely remember a long time resident whose family had close connections to Gandhiji. Apparently, Gandhiji used to stay with them during his visits to the city. The family owned part of what is now known as Nageswara Rao Park. I wonder whom Nageswara Rao Park is named after.

The Park is named after Nageswara Rao Pantalu who is the proprietor of Amrutanjan Ltd. His bungalow is also situated near the park where his offsprings live. the park area was originally called aranthangi kuttai which was donated to the corporation. the park was established in the year 1948. In fact the entire area of East Abhirapuram was owned by Nageswara Rao Pantalu which was slowly disposed off.
